Thank you' I breathed out knowing that we were going to land in a few minutes. After four years of being away from this City finally cback, this tnot as the pathetic loser that left with her broken life six years ago, but as a certified surgeon and the secret CEO of the biggest company in the States, Miller's Corporation.

"Welchome,child," Mr. Cooper welcomedin his arms as soon as I stepped out of the plane. He had cto welcme hby himself. "Thank you, Daddy," I couldn't be more than grat than grateful to this wonderful man who had changed my life and madewho I am today.

"Where are my my grandkids?" He asked anxiously as a deep frown settled on his face, and I smiled.

"Chloe will bring them hlater," "Don't make that face, Dad. They'll be here in a couple of hours. I had to take the early flight because of my work here. I have surgery to perform at the hospital and I needed to be here early," I explained to him, and he nodded.

"I will be going to the hospital from here. I will cover to the house tomorrow," I hugged him and walked away before he would start to complain aboutnot getting a rest as soon as I cback.

A car was already prepared foras I had instructed my personal assistant before we landed, and the ride began as soon as I hopped in the backseat of the car.

"What is my schedule?" I asked Miguel, my assistant, as he drove down the road minutes later "Two surgeries at the International Health Care Center, a kidney surgery at the Sound Medical Center, and a craniotomy surgery tomorrow," It turned out that I might not have tto see my kids or Mr. Cooper tomorrow, I would be so busy.

"And one more thing. Mr Xander Hughes has been trying to book a surgery session for a year now, ma'am. He sent another email with a ten million offer before the surgery..." "Just as always, turn it down," I cut him off as I looked out through the window, and I heard him sigh.

"But ma'am..." "If it has anything to do with Mr. Xander, I don't want to listen," For six years, I was left to suffer alone. I would've died in that labour room if Mr Cooper had not foundearlier. I tried to reach him severally hoping he would listen to me, but he never did, and now that he needed help, he would be a fool to think that I would listen to him "Hmm," Miguel nodded and continued driving I was stunned to see many reporters gathered in front of the hospital when we arrived. People were waiting with pens and papers probably to get this mysterious surgeon's autograph.

'We love you, Doctor Summer" "We want to see you, miracle surgeon 'Please show your face to us already A few of them had a board raised with those words written on it. Getting this far was what I never expected, but had Mr. Cooper to thank for this.

Chapter 3 "What should we do, ma'am?" Miguel looked atthrough the rearview mirror and asked.

"They don't know who I am, so I think I'm safe. Just drive in and let's get to work," It had always been my dream to beca surgeon and MrCooper made my dream ctrue after I met him. One year ago, I finally got my certificate as a surgeon and graduated as the best student of the year in Europe where I schooled. I made it to the limelight after I performed surgery on a patient who had cancer and he was cured. I managed to hide my identity, but that didn't stop people from reaching out to me.

"Alright, ma'am," He drove into the compound and parked at the parking lot. I was glad the reporters didn't suspect anything and we were able to make it into the hospital. The surgery kicked off a few minutes after I arrived.

Just like every other tthat I had performed surgery on people, this was a successful one also.

It was already late in the night by the tI was done at the hospital, so Miguel drove us to a hotel where I lodged a different room from his "Good night, ma'am. Callif you need anything." He said towhen we arrived at my lounge, and I nodded. The sound of my ringing phone caught my attention as soon as I walked inside and I quickly swiped the answer button when I saw that it was Chloe.

"Hey, Chloe. Is everything alright?" I asked worriedly as the tshe was callingwas odd.

"It's the kids. They wouldn't sleep until they talk to you," A smile formed on my lips.

"Letspeak to them," They were given the phone and I spoke to them before I finally went to the bathroom to shower.

I met my phone screen on when I walked back into the room, and I rolled my eyes when I checked the text and realized that it was another email from Xander.

'Hi! This is Xander Hughes. May I know why you are denying my mom surgery? We've been on this for one whole year already. I'm willing to offer any amount, can you please consider me?' I only tossed my phone away after I read the text, I sat in front of the mirror and stared at my reflection. Even though it had been years, it was still hard to get him off my head, but thinking about that night, I couldn't help it. All the promises he made to me, the love we used to share. I didn't imagine that it would one day go down the drain.

After I dried my hair, I finally went to bed.

The banging sound on the door wokefrom my deep sleep, and I snapped my eyes open.

"Ma'am, there is an emergency," Miguel's voice sounded from outside and I quickly rose from the bed. I advanced toward the door and pulled it open.

"What happened?" "I just got a call from Sound Medical Center. The patient you were to perform surgery on today is in a critical condition and your attention is needed at the hospital at once," He said hurriedly.

"Get the car ready. I will join you," I walked back into the room and hurriedly changed into my dress. It was still Sam and I was so tired, but I needed to attend to the patient.

I joined Miguel at the parking lot and we took off to the hospital.

The ride to the hospital didn't take much tsince it was just a few blocks from the hotel. We arrived ке minutes later and I headed into the emergency room where the patient was. The surgery kicked off immediately. It was already past Bam by the tI finished with the surgery and I barely had any energy left in me, but I was glad that it was a successful one just like every other day Seeing the smile on the poor little girl's face as she rushed to hugwith tears in her eyes warmed my heart Chapter 3 "Thank you so much, doctor... Thank you for saving my Dad," She cried as she embracedtightly, and I smiled..

I squatted down in front of her and smiled.

"You should commend your Dad, little girl. He fought for his life," I stroked her hair and smiled at her.

"He is safe now, so don't cry," I cupped her cheeks in my palms and wiped her tears with my thumb. "Summer?" I froze on the spot when I heard a familiar masculine voice behind me.

"Doctor, thank you so much. The patient was saved, all thanks to you," At that moment, Doctor James who was a senior doctor in the hospital walked up towith a smile on his face and it was at that moment I knew my cover had been blown.

"It's you? You are surgeon Summer?" I finally stood up and turned in the direction. It was really him. The man who accusedof cheating and e threwout in the middle of the cold night six years ago. It was really Xander Hughes...
